On 20 September, Levi Laurie, a graduate geologist working at the George Fisher zinc mine in, Queensland, Australia began his 13 day trek to the Base Camp of Mount Everest (5,500 metres above sea level). Levi is trekking to support the work of the Global Volunteer Network Foundation (GVN Foundation).
G-layer are sponsoring Levi with Yellowbrick GPS tracking systems, which will enable live web based tracking, social media updates and access to emergency networks anywhere in the world.
